A status of "accepted" displayed at the Tax Home in TurboTax will not change. That is the efile status--not a refund status. That tells you that you successfully efiled the return to the IRS and they accepted it so they could begin processing it. There is no further feedback to TurboTax. Go by the information in the IRS WMR tool.
You can't tell how long it takes the IRS to process a return based on other peoples' returns. Every return is different and may not even be processed in the same order or by the same IRS systems. The IRS says 9 out of 10 filers who efile and choose direct deposit will get their Federal refunds within 21 days after being accepted. Some returns are processed fairly quickly, while others require additional processing due to specific items in the return. Some are pulled at random for more thorough investigation. And at this time of year (February) some filers will have delays due to the PATH Act.
By law (the PATH Act), the IRS did not begin issuing refunds on tax returns claiming the Earned Income Tax Credit (EIC) or Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC) until after February 15. So filers with one or both of those credits likely won't get their refunds until the end of February or early March.
If you are NOT subject to the PATH Act (i.e, if you didn't have one of those credits), then since your return has been processing longer than 21 days, you can phone the IRS to see if they can give you any reason for your delay.
Here's how to reach a live agent at the IRS:
800-829-1040 (7AM-7 PM local time) Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do not choose the first choice re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
