When I run Review it fails with "Form 1099-B worksheet: Date acquired must be entered for no property existed." a Date Acquired entry box is provided and a form 8949 Reporting Exception Tsransaction is displayed.
My problem is that I have not acquired or sold any property during 2020. Any suggestion or pointers will be appreciated. Thanks

Something is triggering the 8949 in the tax software for your account. Please try and go back to the page where you can add/edit/delete a 1099-B and if you had no activity in 2020, delete anything that is sitting there. The fastest way to get there is to do the following:
1. "Federal Taxes" - "Wages and Income" - "I'll choose what I want to work on"
2. The first section is "Import Summary" - make sure there are no items listed in here that could be triggering the 8949.
3. Next, scroll down the page a bit until you see "Investment Income" and select "Visit All"
4. SELECT "YES" even though you did not sell anything in 2020 - this is how you can check to see if something is "hanging out" in this
section, which would trigger the 8949 to populate and therefore look for additional information from you.
Be sure to walk through the screens, not changing anything, just walking through, until you get to the "Summary" page. Here is where you will be able to delete anything that is sitting in your return. The 8949 is the Form used for all of these types of transactions, as I am thinking you already know that, but it will not prompt you for additional information if it does not already "think" that you need it.
Thank you! That was indeed the problem and the solution. 😀
