It means you have a loss carryover, which means you couldn't use it.  Examples are

• capital loss
• disallowed deductions
• excess contributions
• excess SEP contributions
• unallowed expenses to next year
• charitable contributions
• disaster
• net operating loss (NOL)
• theft and casualty
