I get the above error using TurboTax Premier (Windows 11) along with the Michigan state returns. The complete error reads: "Failed_Validation. There is an update for your version of TurboTax."
Naturally, there is no such update available. Exiting and relaunching (and thus, checking for an available update) does NOT resolve the issue. A previous post, from last year's product, suggests doing a remove and reinstall. Is that really the only option. Hasn't INTUIT figured out what the problem is and applied a fix between then and now?
Thanks,

I have the same issue right now using Turbotax Deluxe Win version, with federal and Michigan state returns. I performed all the steps, including the uninstall and reinstall, and I still get the same error.
Update: federal went through on its own. Will have to keep trying later with Michigan return.
When you finished the remove/reinstall, did you use your previously created tax return file? Or did you start over completely from scratch?
This. This is what I have going on. . . uninstalled & reinstalled 3 times including a few times with the superpatch. I have been all set, paid, and WAITING for over a week for Simple IRA update . . . . . and now Update Error on 02/08. (using deluxe desktop, and MI State)
"I got an update this morning and thought finally I would be able to efile. I paid for efiling. When I click Transmit Returns Now, I get the following error message: "FAILED_VALIDATION. There is an update available for your version of TurboTax. Before you can file electronically, you'll need to get this update. To do this, go to the Online menu and select Check for Updates." And.... Of course, there is no update available. I just spent an hour with support. I've uninstalled and reinstalled. I've run the manual superpatch. They had me try uninstalling by deleting TurboTax folders to make sure nothing was left behind during an uninstall. Nothing worked. Finally I was told I guess I need to wait for the next update which was supposedly coming February 10. This is all very frustrating"
Please let us know if you experience further problems after the 10th.
OK, folks. An update on the situation. I tried again this morning (Feb. 9). There was an update to the Michigan return which I installed, relaunched Turbotax and tried to transmit my returns again.
This time - IT WORKED! So, get the Michigan update (dated with today's date, February 9) and try it again.
Good luck.
I am getting the same error today 2/17 when trying to file 2023 Federal along with CA and MA together.
When I try to transmit Fed only, I get the first part of the error message. I cannot proceed with any filing.

Yes. The problem was resolved by an update posted the next morning.
I had to go to the Quicken website and download the update patch. That fixed it.
