Expat in UK Tax Filing

Hello,

I am an expat living in the UK and have never filed taxes. My parent also claims me as a dependent. Do I need to file taxes this year? Would I need to report my UK salary if filing taxes this year?

Expat in UK Tax Filing

Yes.

As a US citizen, you have to report your world income.

If you work in the UK and receive wages, you may be eligible for the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion (FEIE) if you have live more than 330 days outside the US in 12 consecutive months, or for the foreign tax credit.
