My wife and I sold our home of 18 years in 2021. We have a gain of $230K. We have never rented or used the home for business. We have lived in it continuously since 2004. We have not excluded gain on the sale of a home since 2004. I clearly qualify to exclude the gain, however, TurboTax Premier Desktop for 2021 says I don't qualify. Now what do I do?

You qualify and something is entered wrong if it says that you do not.
Following are the questions asked by TurboTax and my answers. I have checked the questions and answers 5 times and am certain that they are answered correctly.
1) Date Bought or Acquired? 02/09/2004
2) Did “xxxx” live in the home you sold for at least 2 years (24 months) since June 22, 2016? YES
3) Did “yyyy” live in the home you sold for at least 2 years (24 months) since June 22, 2016? YES
4) Did You Use This Home for Anything Other Than Your Primary Home? NO
5) Did “xxxx” sell another main home after June 22, 2019, which is the date two years before you sold the home? NO
6) Did “yyyy” sell another main home after June 22, 2019? NO
7) Did you do either of the following with your home after May 6, 1977? NO
- Take a home office deduction
- Rent out all or part of the home
Note: "xxxx" and "yyyy" are the first name of myself and my wife
WHAT DO I DO IF I SUSPECT A TURBOTAX SOFTWARE PROBLEM?
Millions of people have entered this recently with no problems. Did you buy desktop software from somone other than TurboTax? If you are using online, are you in the Chrome browser and have cleared browsing data for all time?
If that is not the problem, post a diagnostic code.
I bought TurboTax Premier from COSTCO. installed it from the CD and entered the License code. TurboTax then updated itself. Every think worked fine until I got to the Home Sale. I have exited and restarted TurboTax and then both my computer and Turbo Tax. I have called the helpline and walked through each of the questions with the support team member. He did not see anything wrong with my responses to the TurboTax questions. I am at a loss as to what to do next.
since you are using the desktop version switch to forms mode (view tab - forms)
then scroll down to the home sale worksheet to see what's there
look for any boxes that are pink or red
line 29a s/b $250K (or $500K if your spouse also qualifies)
line 8 and 12 s/b no, lines 9 and 10 s/b yes
There is a possibility that the TurboTax has a programming problem. If the error continues contact customer service and ask for help. I would suggest uninstalling the program from your computer and having customer service push you a copy of the program from Intuit.
