Error message can't download state (Califonia)

Downloaded turbotax Deluxe (with one state supposedly) yesterday (Costco online purchase). Seemed to download properly and was able to do and file federal return but it won't download my state (California) today and gives me a complicated error message. What's going on? The error message looks like this:

Try a Manual Update. If that doesn't allow you to download your state, try this State Cleanup Tool.
