I lived in OH for one month last year (01/01 - 01/30/2023) so am a part-year resident for tax filing. Turbotax software kept showing below info and asking me to fix the error but my residency end date is correct (entered .
Form SD 100: Residency end date -- Ohip requires that you account for you and your spouse's residency for the full year and you are missing days.
What is the error and how should I fix it?

Even if you were just a part-year resident, you've got to account for all the days of the year.
To do this in TurboTax Online:
You should see this screen:
Pay careful attention to this text: In order to file a school district return, you must include all districts you lived in, even if they were non-taxing districts or out of state. Use school district code 9999 for out of state residency.

So,
thanks so much, that solved the issue!
I am also getting an error message for form SD 100. I’m helping a friend file their taxes, on July 12 2021 he went to prison, got released on July 28 2023 to a half way house, and then got to go home on
October 13 2023.
He’s been in Ohio the whole time, and they took school taxes out of his check for the time period he was working and living in the school district while in the halfway house.
It won’t let me continue in filing because it’s asking to account for the full year, and that isn’t possible!? Can you help?
Please read the previous reply from tax expert for my initial question and follow his steps to add the additional time by using school district code 999 for non-tax or respective code for the other school district code. If it is the same, probably do not need to separate the time and TurboTax will adjust the return accordingly. Hope that helps.
Okay thank you! I will give it a try.
For some reason, that is not showing in the Ohio return. It only asks residency, county, and district.
We'd love to help you complete your tax return, but need more information. Can you please clarify your question?
