Question

Error 567812 appears on the screen

Cannot open my form which I have worked on for over two weeks. Support told me someone would contact me within 24-48 hours, but no one ever called or emailed me. This error constantly appears and I cannot open the file for 10 days now. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled the program twice on my desktop without any success as initially advised my support when I called them. If I try to start a new form error 10366 appears on the screen. Please contact me to advise how to resolve this fiasco. Thanks, George

I am having the very same problem after updating my turbotax to the latest version. I also had a BIOS update within the same hour of having done that. Not sure which caused this, or why it would be an issue either way - but I need a fix ASAP or you can pay my taxes for me Intuit!

George I was able to find a fix myself (turbotax staff was no help) - I restarted my computer, copied the file that was not working into a new folder, and renamed the file. Then I opened turbotax and navigated to: File > Open (and selected the NEW renamed file.) That worked. Hope it helps you too.

Thank you but it didn't work. I had this problem from February until March. Then they did an update and it worked fine and I filed my taxes. Suddenly in April the same problem came back but I do not care since I am done. Never will I purchase Turbo Tax again since the assistance was useless. I had been using it for 16 years.

I couldn't agree with  you more. I'm getting the same BS error message when I try to save my file, which I had no problem doing a couple of days ago. Keeps telling me that the file is read-only, which it clearly is not. Turbotax SUCKS. I'm done with these incompetent [removed].

In my case, my tax return file changed ownership.  It became owned by Administrator and, hence, could not be opened without administrative privileges.  Changing the ownship to my user name fixed the problem.
