Entering Prior Year Tax Liability

TurboTax calculated a tax penalty because it doesn't know my prior year tax liability to compare to what was withheld this year.  Where in TurboTax can this be entered?

Entering Prior Year Tax Liability

Yes. You can enter your prior year tax to be used in figuring the underpayment penalty. Here is how to enter the information in TurboTax Online:

  1. Navigate to Federal > Other Tax Situations > Additional Tax Payments > Underpayment Penalties > Start or Revisit
  2. Continue through the questions until you are asked to enter the 2023 liability for 2210 purposes.
