EIN Number

The EIN number on the W-2 and Name of company do not match at the IRS. I keep getting rejected can anyone please help?

When you entered the EIN did you enter the "-"?  The format for an EIN is XX-XXXXXXX.  When you enter the EIN do not enter the "-" just enter the numbers. If this does not resolve the issue post a reply for additional help.

This rejection can occur if you mistyped your employer's name or EIN when you manually entered your W-2. It can also happen if your W-2 is incorrect or if your employer's info in the IRS database is wrong.

Here's what to do:

• Sign in to your account and select Fix my return.
• At the Welcome back to TurboTax message, select Fix it now.
• Follow the instructions to fix the error. The employer name and EIN in TurboTax must exactly match the information in boxes b and c on your W-2 form.
• When finished, follow the rest of the instructions to re-file your return.
