Hello,
I have been using Turbo Tax efile for many years without any issues. How ever this year, my return got rejected with error: IND-510-02
This is the first time I had to enter two 1099-NEC forms in TurboTax due to grants my wife received for teaching. Since we do not run personal business, I chose the option in TurboTax " I received a Form W-2 and a Form 1099-MISC and/or 1099-NEC from this firm for 2023. The amount on Form 1099-MISC and/or 1099-NEC should have been included as wages on Form W-2. "
Any thoughts if the rejection was due to 1099 NEC form.
All our SS# information is correct, and this is the first time we are filing for year 2023.
Thanks

Reject IND-510-02 means, the Spouse SSN in the return has been used as the Primary SSN on another return filed for the same tax year.
It's possible you have been a victim of identity theft, if your wife didn't file a return on her own.
Unfortunately your only option will be to paper file your return. I would also suggest you Complete IRS Form 14039, Identity Theft Affidavit and mail it along with your return.

I did manage to speak to IRS agent and he said that it is possible someone may have filed their Tax return with an incorrect SS# which ended being my wife's SS#. On the other hand, this could be an identity theft issue and he recommended exactly what you said to fill out form 14039, which is what I intend to do.
Thank you for responding
