Efile and I left the AGI at $0. It was rejected by the IRS. I went back in to add the correct AGI but now I go to efile it keeps rejecting and putting the AGI at $0.

We suggest that you check with the IRS to make sure that the copy of your return is the same as what they have in their records. To do this, you can order a free IRS Transcript, of your past return from the IRS.

A final solution, if you are just not able to get the information, file your return by mail.

The IRS is very behind in processing returns that were submitted around the date of February 12, when they started accepting returns. They are behind due to COVID-19 and to having to prepare stimulus payments.  Many taxpayers are waiting for their returns to be processed.

If you want to contact the IRS and ask about your return, here is the best way to reach them.

Call them at 1-800-829-1040.  They are open Mon - Fri from 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM.  The best time to reach them is 8:00 AM your time.

Get to a live person fastest: Press 1 for English, then press 2 for Personal Income Taxes, and then push 1, then 3, then 2, then 0# when it asks for your social security number, then 2.
