I'm getting this message when trying to import from E-trade (www.etrade.com).
I've trying changing my password, reducing the password length to the minimum, but nothing has helped.
I'm using Turbotax for the desktop on Windows. I've already opened a support ticket, which was closed with recommendations that are only valid for the online version.
If you would like to help me, please suggest something that will work for the Desktop version.

Have you tried contacting E*Trade Support? Are you using something like two-factor authentication?
I actually have an account with them and had no issues importing a 1099-B into my test copy of TurboTax Home & Business.
I'm not using MFA.
Today, the message changed, now I receive after entering in my credential:
This import was unsuccessful.
No problem - we'll help you enter the
information and continue with your return.
Please see What if I can't import my 1099? for instructions.
If you need additional assistance, please feel free to contact Customer Support so you can speak with someone who can assist you.
