E-file my State taxes

Why can’t TurboTax e-file my Alabama Tax return. The last 2 years they have made me print and mail  copy.

Has your federal return been e-filed?  And was it accepted?    Or are you trying to file federal and state together?   Do you have any forms included in your return that can't be electronically filed?   

Did you select e-file for federal and state?   If so, did you receive any on-screen messages regarding e-filing your AL return?

If you e-filed your federal return as Married Filing Jointly, but want to file your state returns as Married Filing Separately, only one state return can be e-filed. The other will have to be paper-filed.

Yes. I checked to Emile both Federal and Alabama State. But TurboTax said I could not e-file my state. No reason given. I want to get this fixed so it won’t happen next year.

It could be because some forms on your Alabama return are not supported by TurboTax, or are not ready to be e-filed. You can view all forms included on your Alabama return from the Print Center. Click the link below

How do I preview my TurboTax Online return before filing?

After reviewing all forms included in your Alabama return, click on the link below and then on the blue "This Tool" link, and locate your state for when a specific return or Form will be available to be e-filed, printed or if it is unsupported:

When will my individual tax forms be available in TurboTax?

If the form says its Unsupported, it means that it is not supported by TurboTax, and you wont be able to file it electronically, instead you will have to print and mail either the form itself or the whole return.
