Some TurboTax customers are experiencing an issue when their state issued ID does not have an expiration or issued date.
Workaround for TurboTax OnlineIf your state issued identification does not have an Issued Date, select the Back button and choose the I don't have any of these forms of ID option. You may then continue to e-file.
I need to make a change on the first date I entered. The year should have be 2024 vs 2026
Driver's license information isn't necessary for your federal return.
However, without this information, the processing of your state tax return may be delayed, in certain states, and some states may not allow you to e-file without it.
Please see the TurboTax Help article “Why are you asking for my driver’s license or state ID?” for more information.
If you haven’t already filed your return, please see this previous guidance on editing your driver’s license information.
If your e-filed federal return was accepted by the IRS, then you don't need to do anything. If it is rejected because of the license number issue, you'll have the opportunity to correct it and re-submit.
This should be fixed...it happens every year. Can you not have an option for ‘no issue date’.
