Downloading tax data from broker.

It seems there is a new method to download tax data from brokers

When I select my broker from the drop down list.Turbotax wants to open a new tab on my web browser , which displays my broker's login page.

I enter the login information and then turbotax begins to connect with my broker. A message appears connection successful, and then it tells me to return to turbotax, but there's no data.

Shouldn't turbotax display the number of items downloaded? It did not for me ,

Turbotax wanted to install some sort of app on my web browser. What is that about??

Yeah, that extra pop-up is new....I had to do the import a second time...and accept that extra pop up before any data actually transferred into my tax software.   The pop up was something about allowing a connection to your device.
