Downloaded Turbo Tax Software-only letting me do one state?

I purchased the TurboTax Deluxe 2022 Federal/State downloaded software via Walmart.  I need to do my husband and my taxes, as well as our two kids.  When I was doing my son's and I went to state, it asked me if I wanted to use the one free state and when I said no, I could not go any further.  In the past, we have used the Deluxe software and we have efiled our state taxes, did the kids taxes online but they mailed in their returns.  Did I buy the wrong software?

TT download typically comes with one free state.  Your choice is, use the free state for yourself and your husband, and buy another state for your son.  Or, use the free one for your son, and buy one for yourself.  It sounds like the online version is more generous? I've never used it.

Assuming you all only need to file a return in one state and that state is the free state you downloaded then all of you can use the state program, there is no limit.

I misunderstood.  If your son lives in the same state as you, no problem.  Download the free state and use it for all your returns.  You only have to pay if you need a second state.

Thank you everyone.  I think I was over thinking it, because somehow I was thinking we could only do one state tax file, like process only one of our returns, as opposed to one physical state in the US.  We are all set!
