Just a couple things I think of, but only if you are on a Windows computer:
1) a couple new Windows updates were released this week. Waiting Windows updates are known to block installation of TTX. Fully run those updates and reboot (I recommend reboot twice).
2) When retrying the installation, rt-click on the installation file and select "Run as Administrator" (Normally shouldn't be needed, but sometimes helps).
3) if Windows 11, make sure you have the most recent versions of Microsoft Visual C++ installed . the x64 version:
Latest supported Visual C++ Redistributable downloads | Microsoft Learn
To get the Windows_PC_TurboTax_Download exe to run on your computer (WIN PRO 11 in my case) .
Step 1 - Download to your computer
Step 2 - Click on the downloaded exe and try to install it.
Step 3 - Watch as Windows works (hourglass) and then nothing.
Step 4 - Try all the crap suggestions out there and the TT help suggestions.
Step 5 - Have a coronary and a fit of rage as nothing works. No messages, No nothing.
Step 6 - Realize that Windows is a pain and finally do the following.
Step 7 - RIGHT click on the TT download and then LEFT click on PROPERTIES.
Step 8 - On the GENERAL tab look at the bottom and you may see...............................
Step 9 - Security:
This FILE CAME FROM ANOTHER COMPUTER and MIGHT be BLOCKED to HELP PROTECT This COMPUTER.
Step 10 - RIGHT click the BOX next to Unblock text and watch it disappear.
Step 11 - Click the Close (X) in the upper right-hand corner.
Step 12 - DOUBLE RIGHT click the TT download exe and watch it work.
Step 13 - Click YES to Allow program to make changes.
Step 14 - If the TT install shield says MS visual C++ is needed the Click INSTALL button
Step 15 - Watch as program is installed.
Step 16 - Get the Intuit TT License agreement Window and click to accept. Press Next.
Step 17 - You got it from here. Install as you see fit.
You're Welcome.
