Donor Advised Fund

I created a donor advised fund in 2025 through Vanguard (Vanguard Charitable).  I placed appreciated stocks into the Fund.  Do I enter that data in TurboTax in the Charitable Donations section?

Donor Advised Fund

Yes. Contributions to a donor advised fund are treated as charitable contributions in the year the donation is made to the fund. To enter this transaction in TurboTax Online:

1. Go to Deductions & Credits>Donations to Charity and click Add

2. You will enter the donor advised fund as the charity name, then select Items and stock. Follow the screens to add information about the donated stock.

Charitable contributions are itemized deductions on Schedule A of Form 1040.
