That function has been removed from TurboTax. It was great for people who understood it, but caused a lot of confusion with people who saw an amount and then were upset when they input more data and that amount went down. I personally miss that feature, but it is no longer part of TurboTax preparation.

Thank you.
On the off-chance that an Intuit product manager sees this:
Removing this feature has lost you a 6-year returning customer.
If you bring this mandatory feature back, let me know and I may return.
Me too. I’m so frustrated and annoyed that this feature is missing now… just awful.
MISSING REFUND MONITOR
Sorry—-the “running” refund monitor that used to change as you entered data is gone. You have to get all of your income, etc. entered into the software in order to see the results.
The other place for you to look for your federal refund or federal tax due is on your Form 1040
Federal refund will be on line 35a
Federal tax due (that needs to be paid by April 15) will be on line 37
PREVIEW 1040
There are other services which can Act as a Tax preparation service like TurboTax & has this required feature. That is where I will be spending my tax preparation dollars from now on.
This feature was so important to understand the impact of new data, whether it was entered correctly, and had the desired effect. Please bring it back!
So this worked for me.
The refund amount for Fed / state does not show initially.
Go down and select "Final Review" on left side of screen. It will then show the amounts in red or green at the top. After this, these numbers appear to stay displayed, similar to before.
Hope this helps.
