If the IRS never receives an amended tax return they cannot know the tax return was amended.
An amended tax return, Form 1040X, can only be printed, signed, dated and mailed by you to the IRS, it cannot be e-filed. The IRS will take up to 4 months to process the amended tax return. Wait until you have received the tax refund or the taxes owed have been paid and processed by the IRS before amending the tax return.
On the Tax Home web page when the Form 1040X for amending a 2019 tax return becomes available there will be a link - Amend (change) return

i made a mistake on one of my w-2's, when putting in my federal with holdings. i received a letter from irs today saying im under review, i called and they said i could amend. when i did the amend it now says i owe $900. idk how that is but it is just a mathematical error so i am thinking i should wait and see what happens. so now i need to delete the amendment. but idk how to do so.
