Documentation for IRC 1341 Credit - Submit with Mailed Tax Return?

If I am claiming an IRC 1341 Credit for wages paid in 2019 and repaid in 2020, should I submit documentation for that repayment and credit calculation if mailing my tax return?

If you're mailing your return anyway, it wouldn't be a bad idea to attach copies of your documentation and your computation sheet to the back of your return.  It could possibly head off an audit.

That said, the IRS doesn't require any paperwork when you make an IRC 1341 claim on your return.
