Do I need "Self-Employed" version if I have 1099-MISC?

The income is in Box 7. But, I don't have any other special deductions for expenses from that work. Is the self-employed version the only one that can deal with 1099-MISC? It seems over kill for the tiny bit of work I did as a 1099 contractor.

No. If you have only income from self-employment and no expenses, there is no need to upgrade from Deluxe. If you do have expenses, however, that will trigger an upgrade.

Expenses, however, could reduce your total income and overall tax bill.

Here are some expenses that may help you:

THis is my situation but I cannot get past the upgrade option upon review of my Federal taxes!  For this business, it was only residual income but I did not actively sell the products or have associated expenses.
