Divorce taxes

My husband and I are in the process of separating. Next year, our divorce will be final in October 2023. for Y 2023, will we be able to file separately?

For tax year 2022 which will be filed in 2023 you can either file married jointly or married filing seperate.

For tax year 2023 ( year divorce will be finalized) which will be filed in 2024 you would file single or head of house if you have a qualifing child living with you
