If I use the disaster area relief tax extension and not file and pay until early June, will turbo tax add in interest and penalty? I read that IRS will just allow the extension by address without a form for extension required. Is that correct?
thanks.

TurboTax will ask you questions about whether you were in a disaster area and then allow you to 'Waive All' then allow you to type your explanation.
The IRS can waive the underpayment penalty in the event of a natural disaster. If you have been impacted by a federal declared disaster area please revisit the topic of Underpayment Penalties and answer accordingly based on your situation. For further information please refer to the IRS website for the most current information for those impacted by natural disasters.
