Hello. I claimed my daughter as a dependent on my initial filing. I later realized this was an error even though she lived with me for half the year, she made more than $4300. I sent in a corrected filing. She is now trying to e-file and being rejected because she is named as a dependent but I already corrected that. She is no longer listed as a dependent on my taxes and needs to file independently. Thank you so much for your help!

You already used your daughter's SSN on a filed and accepted tax return. She cannot e-file now. Her own return will have to be printed, signed and mailed if she is saying that she cannot be claimed as someone else's dependent. Even if you amend, it will take 4-6 months for the IRS to process your amended return. It will never catch up in the system for this year. The only way for your daughter to file her 2020 return is by mail.
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
Thank you my friend! Will do.
