Dependent eligibility
My son Cameron was a full-time student during 2016. Why didn't the program give me the option of selecting that for him.

Dependent eligibility
If he was 24 or older on 12-31-2016, his status as a full-time student would not matter for claiming him as a dependent. Otherwise, you can find the student screen in the dependent section by doing the following:
- Go to the Personal Info Category.
- Click edit next to the dependent name.
- Continue until you reach a screen labeled "Tell us about Child" and make sure the birthdate is enter correctly. If the birth year is prior to 1993, the full-time student question will not be asked.
- Continue until you reach a screen labeled "Was he a full-time student in 2016?" and answer the question.
