Delete a Farm created under Business tab

I created a farm under the business tab and realized it used a form rather than Schedule F which I normally use.  I created a second farm under the business tab to try and direct it to Schedule F.  I got that but now I just want to delete the original farm created.  Totally lost on that and entering previous depreciated assets

Can you clarify if you are using an Online version or a Desktop version of TurboTax?  The steps are a bit different.

To delete a form in TurboTax Home & Business you can follow these steps:

  1. Within your tax return, use the Forms icon to switch to forms mode
  2. Scroll down the list on the left and find the form you want to delete and select it
  3. Use the Delete Form button at the bottom of the preview screen to remove it

When I make a change on a form in the forms view I am unable to save the changes and it just shows a big red ! mark.  How do I save changes in form view?

Are you trying to delete Schedule F or edit it in Forms Mode?   The red exclamation point stays until every field is filled out.    The delete button is at the bottom of the page if you want to fully remove it.    Go back to the interview and search for farm income.   Use the Jump to farm income link to be taken to your Farm Summary.   You can delete the erroneous farm and edit the correct one from there.

Forms Mode lets you view and make changes to your tax forms "behind the scenes."   If you're adventurous, you can even prepare your return in Forms Mode, but we don't recommend it. You may miss obscure credits and deductions you qualify for, and you may forget to report things that will come back and haunt you later.

I thot I had everything corrected from the deleted form 4835 but in my final print out it shows Self-employment income which I don't have.  We are not considered self-employed and I need to remove that.  There is no form Schedule SE under my forms but there is a Schedule C wks (which is blank) and a SE Adj WKS showing that I cannot delete.  I'm guessing that it could be from the incorrect farm.  How do I remove these or where can I correct them?

You will have to locate the business entity and edit or delete.  In TurboTax Desktop Home & Business, review the business entities that have been created in the software by following these steps.

  • Go to Business / Business Income and Expenses / I'll choose what I work on.
  • At the screen Let's gather your business info, click on Start / Update to the right to see whether there is a business entity created.
  • At the Summary screen, click Edit to edit or click Delete to the right of the business entity.
  • Under Business Income and Expenses, select Profit or Loss from Business.
  • Under Farm Income and Expenses, select Farm Income and Expenses.
  • Under Farm Income and Expenses, select Farm Rental Income and Expenses.
