Deductibility of self insured employer sponsored coverage

I retired from Company A 2 years ago and am now working for another company ( not my own).  I am enrolled in Company A's Employer Provided Health Insurance, so I pay health insurance premiums on my own to the Company's Employer Provided Health Insurance plan.  MY 1095-C reads code 1G in Box 14.  Are my premiums paid deductible on my federal and/or state 1040?

Yes, the premiums you paid for your health insurance to your previous employer would be deductible Medical Expenses on Schedule A in your Federal return.

If your state begins calculations with the Federal AGI (many do), the deduction would be included in your state return automatically.  If you don't itemize, there may be an additional deduction for medical expenses (many states allow this also).

You can check with your state's DOR to verify this.
