I am not sure what to do, my husband had two bank accounts that have his SSN number for IRS purposes. He passed away at the end of 2022 so I was able to file a joint return for 2022.
Not so much for this year filing! As for 2023 taxes I do not know how to file the interest earned. I am on one of the accounts but the 1099 INT only has his SSN. On the second account I had to file a small estate with the court because I was not on that account and of course it has his SSN only.
So here I am filing a claim as a widow, but still have interest income on my husband SSN.

The 1099-INT does not have to have your SSN on it, if your name is on the account, the income would be yours, so you would be able to report it. It will not create an issue, since your name is also on the account and you received the interest.
