I have cryptocurrency sales to report this yeat. I normally use a crypto tax software to figure my cost basis and it the software produces my Form 8949.
This year however, on the 1099B I received from the broker, the box that says "Applicable checkbox on Form 8949" is marked with an X (this box has been blank on all my previous years 1099Bs) and the "noncovered security" box is checked (previous years have always been blank)
my question is weather or not I need to do anything differently given the different codes reported on my 1099B, or if I should just go ahead and use the crypto software as I normally do?
Also, I am using the Deluxe Desktop version. Does this support crypto sales? If not, do I have to purchase a whole different version or am I able to simply upgrade?

your service should handle Box "X" on a 1099-B to generate a correct Form 8949,
Your final box choices are "B" or "E"
if you enter manually you would have to edit each SELL to mark the correct box.
If you buy your Form 8949 separately, it doesn't matter what TurboTax does with crypto.
