Correct Tax Filing

In the fall of 2018  I moved from Virginia to Maryland, I put in an address change with my employer. Although I live in Maryland I still work in Virginia. This year I got my W-2 and it still has my Virginia address and State taxes being taken out for Virginia. What steps must I take to correct this.

Thanks

You will need to give your employer a form to change their mind. Please follow the directions in this link, Reciprocal States and Forms.

How do I handle the taxes taken out for 2019

Only VA state taxes withheld?  Are you filing PY VA and PY MD state tax returns?  (These are reciprocal states.)

If so, I suspect you will have a refund from VA and will owe MD because there were no MD taxes withheld.

Please update your withholding with your employer.  You can check on their progress by viewing your pay stub and seeing whether the correct state income taxes are being withheld.
