Convert turbo tax from windows to ios

Turbotax installed on your own computer is a standalone program.  Your tax files only exist on your computer, and you are responsible for data security and backups.

Turbotax for iOS is not a standalone program.  The iOS app is a portal to Turbotax Online service, doing your taxes on the web site.  With turbotax online, you can work on your tax return from any web browser or using iOS or Android devices.  Your files stay on turbotax's servers.

If you previously used the Windows version and want to switch to using Turbotax online for a new tax season, there is a procedure to "transfer" your data -- that does not mean your old file is stored on the server, it means your old file is used to fill in some of the information for the new year.  You would have to set up your online account and do the transfer in a web browser, then you could continue working by using the same user name and password to log in from the mobile app.

Or do you need to use a Mac?  I see you are posting from a Mac.  Are you confusing OS for Mac with iOS for mobile devices and tablets?

You can install the Turbo Tax program on a Mac and open your tax return file that ends in .tax2016.  Both the Mac and Windows programs use the same data file ending in .tax....  just copy that file over from the PC.  To install the program on Mac you can use the CD.  The CD has both the Windows and Mac programs on it.  If you bought the Windows download you need to call in and ask for the Mac download.

You can open a PDF file of your return in anything that has a reader.  Like iPad or iPhone have PDF readers.
