Confusing TurboTax Form for HSA

I had a HDHP plan for 2024 for my whole family from my employer in 2024 but had made excess contributions in past that could no longer remove. Starting January 2025, we switched to a PPO plan from my wife's employer and no longer had HDHP plan. I paid penalty on excess contributions in HSA account in 2024 tax return.

No that I am filing 2025 tax, I selected I have an HSA as I still have that HSA account and I received a 1099-SA form. I clearly mention that I don't have HDHP plan in 2025 but had an HDMP plan in 2024 for whole year. TurboTax federal review shows a flag for a field to be fixed in form 8889-T which asks what kind of HDHP plan coverage I had in 2025, self-only or family. I am confused though because I clearly answered the question that I do not have HDHP plan anymore starting January 1st, 2025. Here's the screenshot of the federal review question asking for a fix:

Any help in this regard would be much appreciated.

Check self-only in this box.Since you already said "No" to having HDHP coverage for 2025, TurboTax set your contribution limit to zero for the year. Choosing a coverage type in Review ensures a box is checked on Line 1 of Form 8889.

This shouldn't impact your return, and you should be able to clear the error to continue.

Google's AI overview provided the exact solution I was looking for. This seems like a known issue with TurboTax where even after indicating that I didn't have an HDHP plan for tax year, it still forces you to select plan type.

The fix to handle TurboTax's "No HDHP" errors per the Google AI overview (which is Gemini) is that even though I had no HDHP plan, I should select "Self" and then marking "None" for all the months in subsequent detail screen. This is a known common workaround and used in past by many users.
