Clear and Start Over

I started my daughter's tax return for this year and input her W2 and got all the way to almost filing it when TT said it couldn't be filed yet due to them missing a form so I would need to wait.  I was using the free version.  But it must have determined I already "paid"

I forgot she would have some other tax forms which would now require that I use a different version (not free).  It allows me to make changes and add things but I've decided to do this year's manually and now do not want to file this.  

Is there anyway to just remove it?

If you have not paid for the online edition you are using, have not filed your tax return or registered the Free edition, then you can clear your return. Click on Switch Products on the lower left side of the program screen while working on the 2025 online tax return. Click on Clear & Start Over

Yes, if you haven't filed your tax return, you can clear all of the data from the tax return, but the Login will still exist.

1. Log back into TurboTax
2. Select an Item like Personal Info from the center listing
3. Then click on Preview/Edit or Continue
4. This will turn on the left side menu
5. In the bottom left choose Switch Products
6. Then select Clear and Start

When I try I get this:

Since you already paid for TurboTax, you can no longer clear and start over.

I have not paid for it and it was free anyway so I really haven't paid at all.  But it thinks I have?

If you registered the Free edition, you cannot clear the tax return.
