Child's social security number required?

Is a non-custodial parent who is not claiming the child as a dependent required to provide the child's social security number in order to complete their taxes with Turbo Tax?  I am being told that Turbo Tax is requiring that this information be provided in this situation.

No, but you'll have to leave that child off your return entirely. If you aren't claiming any tax benefits related to that child, remove them from your return so you can move forward.
