My child is being cared for by an individual and gave me their ITIN not their EIN nor their SSN. I see online that I can use the ITIN as an EIN however H&R block claims that I can use the ITIN as a SSN... How would I be able to use the information that I have for this years taxes?

The ITIN is formatted like a Social Security Number
xxx-xx-xxxx
Enter it that way.
Hello, thank you for answering!
just wondering, when filling out this information in the allocated spots, there is not a very clear option to do this. just to input a SSN, EIN or other (AKA no identification number of any kind). My confusion was if I could use the ITIN as an SSN in that exact spot.
Yes, choose SSN number format. For the dependent care credit, you can provide the care provider's name, address, and their SSN, ITIN, or EIN on your return (unless it's a tax-exempt organization).
Did it work for you?
An ITIN entered as an SSN format will work for the Dependent Care Credit provider. @Rosin07
