Happening to me too in Turbotax Deluxe. It is not working for me in my chrome. Not able to figure out what security setting that is causing the issue. Don't want to manually add, as there are 70+ entries. Tried in Turbotax Online and it works fine. I was able to download the details from Turbotax Online following this article and continue on my Turbotax Deluxe. 😎
I had the same problem. Import of Schwab only brought in Schwab data and nothing from Ameritrade.
Log into your Schwab account and look at your tax document; if it has a Ameritrade header, you need to select Ameritrade instead of Schwab as your broker. You will need to enter your account number and document ID from the top of your document but all data will be imported.
My problem is just the opposite--I can import the TDAmeritrade data but not the Schwab. I still haven't figured it out--tried several different browsers with various security settings. No success, but I'm still trying.
It was the browser for me, too. I'm running Turbo Tax in a Windows 11 Parallels container on my Mac. The default browser is Chrome.
I changed the default to Edge and both TD Ameritrade and Charles Schwab completed successfully, after failing with Chrome.
Were you able to get your import to work? I still haven't.
Yes, I did finally get both TD and Charles Schwab to download.
I did notice that I tried Chrome first as the default browser and neither one of them would download. I switched to Edge, and tried TD and it didn't work. BUT, then I tried Schwab and it downloaded. Them I was able to download TD. So both were successful.
I think that the Schwab one hung somehow, stopping other downloads (LIke TD). Once I switcxhed to Edge and successfully download Schwab, it cleared something and TD worked as well.
Same issue too w/ Brave Browser. You MUST TURN OFF the 'BRAVE SHIELDS' located in the http: area just click on the Brave Icon and turn shields off. The download will continue and your 1099's will upload w/o any problems.
Yay, it worked! Thank you so much for the Brave browser tip. Once I removed the shield, the imports from Schwab went right through. So relieved.
On the first try, it did not work.
But the 2nd try did (must have mistyped).
Selected TD Ameritrade for TD 1099(s), and Schwab for the Schwab 1099(s). Two different processes, but both ended up working, which is quite a relief. I was REALLY not looking forward to manually typing in 30 pages from TD.
NOTE: If you are coming from TD Ameritrade, you must use Document ID like you had done in the past by downloading the PDF from TAX center. I included the link below.
You'll need to import your Schwab and TD Ameritrade Form 1099s to your tax software separately.
In the past this worked flawlessly. No my IRA Brokerage Account doesn't even appear in the list to check off for download. A couple of bank account 1099-INT forms appear but not the really big one that will be a pain to manually enter. I can't enter a summary because my US taxes then go to my Spanish accountant for him to do my taxes in Spain. He won't like having to manually enter a hundred or so trades! This is probably a matter of getting an inTuit programmer on the task.
BTW I use Chrome without any special bells or whistles so it should not be a browser related problem.
It sounds like you have accessed Schwab Bank for downloads. Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. and Charles Schwab Bank, SSB are separate but affiliated companies and subsidiaries of The Charles Schwab Corporation. You could be using a bank log-in that also has access to other Schwab accounts when you log in to the website, but not for downloading tax documents. If that is the case, you should have the ability to log in to your brokerage account using an ID and password specific to that account.
I double checked. I'm logged into my brokerage account. Clearly something changed since last year. Either Schwab renamed a file such that TurboTax doesn't detect it, or TurboTax had a code change is is no longer finding the file. To get this fixed I'd be happy to provide details including screen shots.
.
Meanwhile, I don't have time to wait so I will enter the data by hand. BTW, I ran through the scenario on your competitor. Their approach was to have me download the report from Schwab and then upload to them. It worked.
So get it together.
Thank you! This was exactly the problem I was having.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS POST!!!
I also use Brave and was having the same problem with my Fidelity documents. I was about to type it all in myself. I would have never thought that Brave was the problem.
Thank you!
