I know that I entered the cost basis for non-cash donations, not just the current FMV at thrift shops, but the cost bases do not show up on Form 8283 and I don't know where to find the data that I entered.
Also, I made a slight mistake on the address of the Thrift Shop to which I donated, but I can't figure out how to get back to that input field in order to correct it. Why does TurboTax seem to hide the data fields so I can't find them if I need to go back and update them? I have already gone back to the Donation lines but I can't see where I entered the data in the first place for cost basis or address.
I did an override in the boxes to add cost basis for each batch of donations, but now my 8283 has "!"s and says it isn't finished. What's up with that? Why allow me to override if TurboTax is not going to respect that I know what data I am entering and why it is necessary?

Ok, so this may be a little strange, but I didn't get any Replies and I wanted to finish my Return tonight, so I figured out the answers.
Let me share the info with you in case it helps someone. In the Form 8283, there were empty Data Fields that were supposed to be populated for Cost Basis. I Right Clicked & did an Override in each box, entering "Purchase" in the left & "$$$" amount in the right box for each of 3 non-cash Donations made to a single Charity. However, the type appeared in red, and the boxes were pink instead of blue for data entry,
I noticed when I right clicked that where I had seen "override" there was an option "data source." When I clicked on that, for each box, it took me to the data entry page, where I was able to enter the information that had been missing. Once I added the figures and "Purchase" in the boxes, I closed the Data Source pop up.
However Form 8283 still showed a "!" next to it, and the numbers and "purchase" were still in red. When I did a Review, it said there were 6 errors, and surprise surprise it was the 6 boxes on Form 8283 that showed in red type and pink background. I tried to delete what had typed in each box, but that wasn't good enough. The error "fixing" page told me that I needed to go to the 6 pink boxes with red type and "cancel override" by right clicking in each box (one at a time).
I fixed the Address of the Thrift Shop by finding the name of the charity on Form 8283, going to the address box, and right-clicking on it & selecting data source. I corrected the address in the pop up, then closed it, did Review again, and voila! all done.
