When I attempt to transmit my returns I get a message that I have upgrades to be done so I cannot transmit. It says "Validation Failed: There is an update available for your program. Before you an e-file you need to get this update. To do this go to the Turbo Tax Menu and select Check for Updates." I cannot find anywhere that says Check for Updates. Where is this?'

If you are using TurboTax CD/Download, on the top on the screen, click on Online. A menu will open for you to click on Check for updates.
When I click on Transmit I get a message I need to check for updates. When I go up to Online and check for updates I am told I am up to date. Catch 22.

The link above shows the messages and there is a link to something I tried but which solves a problem I do not have, that is, a problem updating. I have no problem updating whatsoever.
Of course I can mail my forms but I want to know why this is happening.
We do apologize for the issue that you continue to experience. Please click What is the TurboTax phone number and choose the version of TurboTax that you are using to connect with the correct agent. Let the agent know that you are having problems with a known issue and that you need for them to first push the federal download and then the state download.
I get an error message for transmission. It reads need update, but the software doesn't agree. How can I fix this.
I tried calling with yes success. it is very difficult to get through and speak to a person. Rating is 1 star right now

What a terrible system to try to get in touch with a human. All those TV ads are false advertising. You spend15-20 minutes trying to navigate the automated system. In the end they have to call you back. Preparing your taxes is stressful enough, you finally get through it and your return will not transmit and you are stuck in this endless loop.
5 days in, no call back from TT. I think I will switch to HR Block next year....
