Cannot seem to find where I enter my French taxes paid on my dividends and capital gains to offset same paid on my US return?

On the 1099-DIV entry screen, only boxes 1a, 1b and 2a appear at first. Click the box below box 1b that says: My form has info in more than just these boxes (this is uncommon).  You will be able to enter the French taxes paid  in box 7.

Tol get back to the 1099-DIV entry, please follow these steps:

  1. Click on Federal > Wages & Income
  2. Scroll down to the Interest and Dividends section and click on the Start/Revisit box next to Dividends on 1099-DIV.
  3. Answer Yes to Did you receive any dividend income?
  4. On the next screen, click on I'll type it in myself.
  5. Enter the dividend information.
  6. Foreign taxes are reported in box 7, so mark the box My form has info in more than just these boxes (this is uncommon) and the other boxes will appear.
  7. Continue through the interview.
