Cannot Import Tax File When Amending Business Return

I filed an S-Corp business return using Turbotax Online. I need to amend that return. I purchased and downloaded Turbotax Business desktop, and downloaded the .tax file for the 2024 S-Corp return I wish to amend.

On the desktop program "Work on a Tax Return" page, I click Amend a Return, Find a Tax File, and select the .tax file for the return I want to amend. I get the message. "Your federal tax return is now on this computer. Let's get your [state] S Corporation state forms next.  Error: 190" I click "Download my state forms." The first time I did this I selected my state and paid the $55 fee to add state to the program. When I check the box for my state Partnership return and click Download Now, I get some spinny graphics and it returns to the "Work on a Tax Return page but there are still no files found.

I have repeated the above process (minus the paying for the state tax program) multiple times and it is always the  same result. The program appears to be unable to find the files and I don't know where my state file is at all.

I don’t know how it works in the Business program but I think it should be the same as the personal Desktop programs.  

After you get the program installed or reinstalled the first thing to do before you open your tax return is to update the program and install any state programs you had. Then open your file. So you first might need to start a fake return to be able to download the state program (go to File-New Tax Return).

Then go to FILE -Open and find your return.
