Bought TurboTax Deluxe 2025 & cannot import my H&R Block 2024 return.
The file is (My Name)2024 H&R Block Tax ReturnT24
But when I use the TT Import function & search for my file, it is greyed out.
TurboTax advertises that it can import H&R Block!
Help please.

Are you on Windows or Mac? I think it only transfers into Windows Turbo Tax.
See…..Transferring from TurboTax for Windows, H&R Block, or TaxACT

TurboTax Online and the Mac Desktop program only supports PDF transfers, if you used other tax software last year. But a pdf only transfer very basic info like your name and AGI. It would be just as easy to manually enter all your info. So it's probably not worth even trying to transfer it.
Thanks for the reply.
Sorry I forgot to specify I’m on a Mac & do not have a PC.
The H&R Block tax file is (My Name) 2024 H&R Block Tax Return.T24
I forgot to add the “.” Making it clear that the file extension is “.T24”
I also had made PDF files for my 2024 Return but I’ve read & you just said that pdf will only transfer basic info.
It seems like a made a mistake buying the non-returnable TT software from Amazon & should have stuck with H&R Block.
I have used TT for many years but last year I found it did not work with my older MacO.S. Monterey v12.7.6. But H&R Block software did! I was able to transfer my prior year TT file to H&R Block & do my 2024 taxes.
This year I bought a new Mac (My old one was not able to update the O.S. Apple does that to force customers to buy new Macs)
I now run macOS Tahoe 265.2, the latest O.S.
Your link:
“Transferring from TurboTax Desktop for Mac”
Says to copy the last years tax file (Which would be a .T24 file) onto a removable flash drive & copy it to my PC (& change the file extension to “.tax24” (They said .tax23 but In this case I need last years which is 2024)
I don’t know if they mean to add the “.tax24” after the “.T24”
Or to replace the “.T24” with “.tax24”
IDK if I’m then supposed to copy the renamed tax file back to the flash drive & copy it to my Mac & then TT will be able to import it or if they mean I should somehow do taxes on the PC which will not work since I D/L the TT Mac version.
I don't really have a PC but do have a very old one, in storage, that belonged to a relative from ~ 9 years ago.
Of course I can easily make a duplicate of my H&R T.24 tax file on my mac & change the file extension, replacing the “.T24” with “.tax24”
Would that work?
Thanks again!
Oh sorry. That first link was how to transfer INTO the Windows TurboTax program, not to Mac. Disregard all that. Here are 2 links for Mac......
How to Transfer into the Mac Desktop program

How to Transfer a pdf into the Mac Desktop program

Here's another link I found. It might explain it better......
If you don't have a Turbo Tax .tax2024 file you can try to transfer a pdf into Desktop Turbo Tax. You can transfer basic information if your 2024 PDF is a 1040 return generated through TurboTax, H&R Block, or TaxACT software (Form 1040-SR isn't supported for PDF transfer). This doesn't specify if it's only for Windows or Mac.

If when all is said and done, you can't get your TurboTax software to transfer-in what you wanted and are unhappy with it, you can get a refund for it in the first 60 days. Even though Amazon may say that software is non-refundable, TurboTax stands by it with their 60-day satisfaction guarantee--if purchased from TurboTax or an authorized retailer--and Amazon is an authorized retailer. If it comes to that, we can tell you how/where to submit a request online to TurboTax.
here's a link to the 2025 system requirements for desktop for both Windows and MAC
https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/cd-download/tta-system-requirements/
Thanks again for all the replies.
I have a Mac Studio M4 with 36 GB Memory & 1TB HD running the latest macOS Tahoe 26.2 so my system is well above the system requirements to run TT.
So far nothing on this thread or my searches has given me any hope that I can import my complete H&R Block tax file ending with the file extension “.T24”
I do have my complete 2024 H&R B file as a PDF but, have not tried to import it due to many people here & elsewhere stating that it imports only basic info such as; name, address, SS#, AGI.
I do not think it will import my schedules. I do not think it will import my forms. I also read that it will NOT even import 1040-SR
Even if I had used 1040 last year instead of 1040-SR, I doubt TT could really use all the numbers on the 1040, since I’ve been told it only imports some few bits of info.
I’m also guessing I would have the same problems trying to import my state tax return (also H&R B)
I need to decide whether to buy H&R Block 2025 software again & continue to use that instead of TT in future years.
There were a few things I did not like about H&R B but at least their software was able to import my prior year TT return w/o issue.
I think TT should disclose that the Desktop software for Mac is NOT able to import H&R Block tax files. Importing a PDF, to get only name, address. SS & AGI, is not the same as importing the actual tax file with a huge amount of useful information/schedules/forms needed to do your taxes.
I just Tried to import my full tax return PDF 2x & it did not import!
No warning message, just a sound & the TT screen remained the same.
I wanted to see exactly what info TT now had after importing the PDF.
you can request a refund and go back to H&R
