Can you help me to fix the caculation error

I finished my tax return with Deluxe version. It tells me taxable income is $3901, the effective tax rate is 5.81%. But the system generate the total tax $936 which is not right . How can I fix it? Thanks

You might want to review the details of your return while in TurboTax follow these steps:

1. While in your Tax Home,
2. Tax Tools on the left hand side of your screen,
3. Select Tools,
4. Select View Tax Summary,
5. Select Preview my 1040 on the left hand side of your screen.

Go through all the entries you made into TurboTax and review for accuracy.

If you haven't filed your return, you can change anything in TurboTax by going back to the area and the item that you entered and select Edit next to it.

If you have filed your return you can not change anything in TurboTax.  If you find any errors, you will have to file an amended return to correct it.  For information on how to file an amended return use this link:  How to file an amended return.

You might owe a penalty for something or did you get any 1099Misc?  You might owe self employment tax  in addition to the regular income tax.  What lines look wrong?

Thank you very much for your answer. I did checked the imported #, everthing is right.

I have done another person's tax in my family. again everything I entered is triple checked, right!

Here is final numbers

Total income: $44247

Federal deduction: $12200

Taxible income: $32047

Tax you owe: $10976

Tax you paid: 6647

Your balance due: $4329

I filed single, at  $32047, the tax rate is about 12%, it should be ~$3400 not $10976!!! Both tax return should be is 10% -12% rate, but the software caculated at 33%.

I used this CD Turbo tax 2019 for doing two people's tax return, I entered everything right but the end it gave me the wrong calculation. Please figure out what is wrong? I even updated the software, it is not help. 

Is this CD has problem?

I have just post one reply. to answer your question, I did not have 1099MISC. only have w-2 to enter.

Is there possibility te software is disfuction?

What are the actual line numbers?  What line is the 10,976 on?  Like tax on line 12b?  Any amounts on lines 13-16? See if you have any other tax on schedule 2.

Are both returns wrong?  You should call in.  They may want to see a diagnostic copy of the return.
