When a federal or state return is rejected, TurboTax sends email notification explaining what went wrong.
Return to the program and there will be prompts to fix the rejected return. See: How do I fix a rejected return?
If they are still getting rejected, the last resort is to print and mail the return. See: How do I switch from "E-File" to "File by Mail" in TurboTax Online?
