Can you change personal info after you file and update your e-file.

I selected the box 6a that says I claim myself as a dependent and filed.  Then I went back in to Personal info and changed it to someone can claim me as a dependent (the way it should be).  Now when I view and print my taxes it shows that someone else can claim me on my taxes.  I was told once you file nothing can be changed.  My question is what went to the federal and state, claim myself or did it change to someone else can claim me.

What you originally had selected when you e-filed went through. What you changed in the program afterward has not been transmitted.

If federal is already e-filed and pending, and you need to add information to or modify your return, you need to wait until it is either accepted, or rejected.

If rejected, you can update your return and re-file.
