Can we request FTB to change payee's name from both my spouse's and mine to my name only, since we don't have joint bank account?

We filed 540NR since my wife leaves in our country (foreign).   We checked direct deposit for the refund with my individual bank account information, since we don't have a joint bank account.  Bank won't accept the check because it is in both our names. What do I do to get the money from FTB?
