Good morning! New estate tax form 1041. My wife died last May and had some dividend income from May to December that I want to distribute to myself. I like to work directly with the forms, though I'll switch to Step-by-Step if I have to. But I see no way to open Schedule B or to attribute dividend income to anyone but the estate itself.
Is the only way around this to file a form 1099-NEC (or DIV) to get the income off the estate form 1041 and onto our joint form 1040?
Thanks!

Switch to Step-by-Step and use the Distributions section of the program to make a distribution to yourself.
This should be a relatively simple process assuming you're the sole beneficiary.
I am very sorry for your loss.
Okay, thanks! I'll try that.
