I'm at the page for entering a 1099-DIV. In past years, you could double-click one of the entries (e.g "1a - total ordinary dividends") and it would open a table. That was nice, because you could enter your investments separately there, for record-keeping and such. But it doesn't work anymore. However, I am able to create tables for entries in other forms.
Speaking of tables, there's another apparent bug that's been there for a few years. You can't delete a row in a table. The dropdown menu under "Edit" (in EasyStep mode) has "delete table row" greyed out.

Bump ...
Assuming you are using Desktop software??
1) Windows: Click into box 1a, then rt-click on it to get the pop-up menu, and select "Add Supporting Details"
2) MAC (I think, but this also works on Windows): click in box 1a, then go to the top of the screen and select "Edit" to get the drop-down menu, and select "Add Supporting Details".

The Double-click method sometimes works if you are re-using a 1099-DIV that transferred over (but empty) from last year, that already had a Supporting Details sheet in it for that same field.....but doesn't happen if you are creating a new 1099-DIV. 1) and/or 2) above always work.
Yeah, Premier desktop on Mac. (I thought I entered that when I made my OP, but I don't see it there at all).
Thanks for the answer - the Edit dropdown works fine. But double-click has always worked for me, even on a new form; and this isn't really a new form, because when I did open it (using Edit), my ticker symbols were already there. Oh well.
Any thoughts about why "Delete Table Row" is greyed-out ?
Double click not working when it used to?
Yeah, some rewritten software for sections in the Windows software don't work the same either for every shortcut that used to work. Nothing to do about it but complain to the empty ether....with little hope that anything will change

Delete table row...might be a similar software rewrite that messed it up....but the software really isn't ready for everything yet....maybe it will return by the time TTX issues the majority of the final Federal forms.....9 Jan for some, and 16 Jan for "most" of the rest. But other than that possibility, I'm clueless.
Quoting ...

The delete table row thing has been broken for several years, so ...
